Important Dates  

¨       There are two positions open for our PTO, President and Treasurer.  Nominations need to be turned in to Mr. Cox or Mrs. Stephan by Friday, May 17^th.  Candidates will be posted on the Star Hill website on the PTO page on Monday, May 20^th.  The election will take place at a special meeting on Wednesday, May 22^nd.  You must be present at the meeting to vote and one vote per household.

¨       Saturday, May 18^th – GPS directions for families going to the Shorebirds game:  Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, 6400 Hobbs Road, Salisbury, MD  21804.  There is a $3.00 parking fee.  

¨       Wednesday, May 22^nd - Girls On The Run Cookie Sale to benefit Multiple Sclerosis.   Cookies will be 254 to 504.   Please support our “Cookies for a Cause”.

¨       Thursday, May 23^rd  – Field Day for Grades 1^st & 2^nd – 9:00 am to 12 noon @ Camden Little League Park

¨       Friday, May 24^th – Field Day for Grades 3^rd, 4^th & 5^th – 9:00 am to 12 noon @ Camden Little League Park

¨       Monday, May 27^th – Memorial Day. Schools closed

¨       Friday, May 31^st – 5^th grade Survivor Day at Brecknock Park from 9:00 – 2:00.  Still need approved volunteers to help out.  Please contact your child’s teacher to sign up.

¨       Monday, June 3^rd – Talent Show - SH students who have signed up will be showcasing their many talents.          1^st & 2^nd grades will be performing 9:15- 10:30 and 3rd, 4^th, and 5^th grades will perform from 1:30 - 3:15 in the cafeteria.

¨       Tuesday, June 4^th – Book drop off day

¨       Wednesday, June 5^th – Book drop off day   and  5^th grade “Moving Up” Ceremony  9:00 cafeteria

¨       Thursday, June 6^th – Book Swap Day     Abbreviated Day – Dismissal at 1:20 p.m.

¨       Friday, June 7^th – Abbreviated Day – Dismissal at 1:20 pm.

¨       Monday, June 10^th - 5^th grade “Clap Out” to be held before dismissal – approx. 1:00 p.m.

¨       Monday, June 10^th – Last Day of School – Abbreviated Day – Dismissal at 1:20 pm. Report cards issued. Also available through Home Access Center.

Star Hill Elementary School in Dover, Delaware is one of seven elementary schools in the Caesar Rodney School District. It is located on Voshell Mill Road, a half mile East of Route 13 in the Southern end of Dover. Star Hill has a student population of 500 students in first through fifth grade.
                                       
Chester Cox, Star Hill's principal, is supported by a faculty and staff of 50; encompassing teachers in grades 1-5, specialists in reading, music, art, physical education, school counselor, school nurse, and paraprofessionals.

Star Hill Elementary School is a learning community that prides itself on its dedication to recognizing each student's ability to be a successful learner. In addition, Star Hill has strong community ties; with parents, teachers, volunteers, and mentors, working together to help provide students at Star Hill with all the tools for success.
